What cars do you find which are good for long trips? I am going to nominate the Subaru BRZ. For a small sportscar it is surprisingly good at keeping you comfortable for long trips. Ample leg room in the front and seats which hold you without aggravating your back too much (I should note that I am ~5'11" and 145lbs though my dad is 6'4" and agrees with me). It is one of 2 cars I have actually managed to fall asleep in with the other being a 1985 Merkur XR4Ti rally car with a 3 inch straight pipe (rally seats and harnesses do a great job of holding you upright and I had been awake since 3AM) so ¯\_()_/¯.
So what say you Oppo? Which cars should suck for long distances but are actually pretty good?

Oh and you can put plenty of stuff in the back relative to the number of people you can fit.

FiST. While it is pretty stiff, it isn’t overly noticeable on the highway, and if the Recaros are formed to you, they are wonderful. Nearly 500 miles in a day, and not a single ache or sore area. Also, it’s super quiet inside. I was very surprised when I took it on a trip at how much I wasn’t ready to get out.

The Focus ST devours highway miles, and has a surprisingly nice ride when cruising.

‘08 Mustang GT. You’d think a semi-sporty V8 muscle car with black leather on 616.4 mile trip from Ohio to SC on Christmas Eve would suck but I was able to both drive and sleep comfortably in it. Pops drove it from Ohio to the mountains (I slept most of the time), I took over in the mountains (he didn’t sleep because he didn’t fully trust me with his Mustang, understandably), and he took back over once we got to the VA/NC state line (I slept once more).

My dad still hasn’t let my drive the BRZ. He always offers when he knows I don’t have my license with me though.

Either of these, put 3500 miles on the 128i in less than a month, including two 800 miles in one day, and have driven the M3 700+ miles 3 times in one go.

I did 1,100 miles in an FR-S in one go, and another 1,100 3 days later, and I can agree with you on that one! Besides the road noise, it was a pretty nice road trip! And it comes with a pretty nice stereo so the road noise wasn’t too bad

My Tercel was actually perfect on long trips. I never needed to readjust or felt any aches or pains. The seats were tight and firm and inoffensive.
